Ignite Passion for Discovery at spectrUM

spectrUM Discovery Area has been igniting passion for discovery through science since 2007. As the hands-on science museum of the University of Montana, located within the Missoula Public Library, we are continually seeking ways to engage, educate and entertain children and their families. We do this through role model engagement, hands-on activities and cutting-edge exhibits about timely scientific concepts!

You can help us engage students and families with science, and through your gift, you can be part of the fun! Leave us a comment with your donation, telling us which of these exhibits you are most excited to see!

Exciting exhibit possibilities include:

  • “I Like Bikes: The Art and Science of the Bicycle” will demystify the physics and technology behind our favorite mode of transportation. From brake mechanics to gear ratios, helmet design to muscle contraction, there is so much science to explore!
  • The “GUTS: Getting Under Technology’s Skin” exhibit reveals the inner workings of the mechanical and technological objects that we encounter every day. By creating windows into some objects, and completely “exploding” others, we highlight what goes on inside our technology, how it works, and how we can repair, rather than replace, the objects that surround us.

All funds raised through this campaign support spectrUM’s museum and exhibit development initiatives. We believe in science for all, and we hope you’ll help support spectrUM Discovery Area’s mission today.
