Create a Future Where Women Entrepreneurs Thrive

The Rural Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Women Co-Lab (REAL Women Co-Lab) is committed to transforming the entrepreneurial landscape for rural women. Based at the University of Montana, we focus on creating equitable funding opportunities, improving access to resources and addressing the unique challenges faced by women in underserved communities. 

You give us the ability to provide opportunities such as:

  • Ensuring rural women entrepreneurs have the tools they need to thrive, starting in Montana and extending our impact nationwide. 
  • Partnering with economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, banks, investors and community development financial institutions to develop solutions that open doors for rural women entrepreneurs.
  • Expanding access to capital through innovative financial models like microgrants and alternative lending programs.
  • Training funders and investors to better understand the needs of rural women, equipping them to provide more effective support.

You play a critical role in bringing our vision to life. What we do in Montana shapes national policies and funding models, driving systemic change for rural women entrepreneurs across the nation. Together, we can address the specific challenges rural women face — such as geographic isolation and limited access to professional networks — ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed. You help create lasting change for rural communities across the country.
