Improve Equipment and News Access Across Campus and Beyond

The Kaimin, UM’s weekly, student-led newspaper, has been a part of the fabric of the University of Montana since 1898. But times have changed, and as UM continues to evolve both technologically and culturally, the Kaimin must adapt as well. For students working at the Kaimin, this means a need for improved resources, and new ways to reach our ever-growing audience served by our weekly printed newspaper, podcast and blog.

Because of you, we will be able to achieve the following, and so much more:

  • Elevate our ability to create meaningful, informative and impactful stories across our array of platforms
  • Make critical upgrades to our equipment, such as the highly-utilized printer we employ to produce proof photos and text, which will increase our productivity
  • Purchase photo and video equipment, like cameras, microphones and tripods, to improve the quality of our audio and visual productions

Our newspaper averages hundreds to thousands of readers per semester. We pride ourselves on being an avenue for change, accountability and flourishing diversity. Like any great newspaper, the Kaimin strives to be a platform for civil discourse and most importantly, connection. With your help, we can expand our readership and offer the high-quality journalism our university and community deserve.
